WELCOME
Umeed is committed to providing holistic knowledge and raising awareness about the increasing burden of Cancer in developing countries. We work with our NGO partners to raise funds for low-income cancer patients and create multimedia that can be used to educate patients and caretakers about symptoms, side-effects, treatment options, etc.

As an organization we work to alleviate some of the problems stemming from the current public health crisis of cancer in developing countries. The growing burden of cancer in these regions encompasses over 1 in 10 individuals who will develop a form of cancer in their lifetimes, 1 in 15 individuals who will unfortunately succumb to the disease, and proves a source of financial uncertainty for affected individuals and their families and communities.

OUR REACH
A Bit of Background
Currently, Umeed works with NGOs that support cancer patients in India. We aim to expand our work and partner with NGOs in other South Asian countries. Apart from our work with patients and NGOs, we also seek to inform members of the Brown community about the social and financial challenges of Cancer care in low and middle income countries.
